Using a Diffuser is an Easy Way to Release Essential Oils
The most commonly diffused essential oils are lavender, peppermint, tea tree oil, patchouli, and eucalyptus. The process involves raw plant material consisting of flowers, leaves, wood, bark, roots, seeds, or peel placed into an alembic (distillation apparatus) over water. As the water heats, steam passes through the plant material to vaporise the volatile compounds. The vapours then flow through a coil and then condense back to liquid form, which then collects into the receiving vessel.
